inQdo sponsors participant Alpe d’HuZes
Emiel Obdeijn (AEPEX Business Consultants) will be a participant at Alpe d’Huzes on June 2nd 2016. He’s attending this event for the 4th time in 6 years. inQdo is proud to be Emiel’s sponsor and thereby contributing towards achieving this milestone.
Emiel’s drive to participate in Alpe d’HuZes comes from his notion that extensive research on the causes of cancer, on treatments adapted to individuals and DNA, and faster diagnoses are still in high demand.
I can revive the experiences and stories of Ad6 of 2010, 2011 and 2013 vividly. Especially the story of a father, with whom I cycled on Alpe d’Huez for a while. He told me about his 14-year-old son and himself: they were both diagnosed with cancer in the same period and followed their treatment simultaneously. On the same day the father was declared being medically ‘clean’, his son died…
I want to pay a contribution to the resources for doctors and researchers for as long as I’m able to do so. To train half a year and to have one rough day, is nothing in comparison to what other people have to endure.
Emiel will face the following challenges:
- Individually climb Alpe d’Huez in one day as many times as possible.
- To raise as much money for KWF Kankerbestrijding through sponsoring.
What is Alpe d’HuZes?
Alpe d’Huzes is an event that enables participants to climb the legendary mount Alpe d’Huez maximum 6 times in one day, through walking, running or cycling. The aim of this event is to raise as much money as possible for the battle against cancer, while bearing in mind the motto: ‘Quitting is not an option’.
All revenues are used to support scientific research towards cancer. The goal of this research is to get this disease under control, therefore preventing any more people dying of cancer in the future.
